THE SPUD potato was raised in Alabama, bought on ebay then given as the best present ever. What a spud it was! So perfect in it’s heart shaped form and such a huge source of amusement and inspiration we had to immortalize it in bronze.  The Spud's image and message will be travelling the world as the symbol for Inner Spud cards.

DELLA SUMNER is the lucky recipient of the Spud, critter rescuer and instigator of Inner Spud.
After owning a gallery for many years and having an artistic eye she saw the art around
her as the perfect vehicle for the card line she had been wanting to create.
As a card buyer herself Della wanted them to be visually juicy and have a strong element of fun.
The magic potato put fire into the idea.







​JO-ELLEN WILSON is the procurer of the Spud and is Della’s "spuddy."
She knows a great gift is not about the price but the fun. What a bang for 2 bucks !
The spud really delivered.  

Jo-Ellen has an inclination towards adopting dogs with severe under bites and taking home art. 
She is a patron and long time fan of John’s and Sharon’s art and has been a force behind launching Inner Spud Cards.


JOHN SUMNER is a California art school graduate with a Masters Degree in sculpture as well as a natural born masters in silliness. Animals have always been his muse, dominating his drawings, sculpture, and later his painting. He loves critters and they love him.

His support and assistance is always there when Della brings home another rescue. John feeds them and makes sure they get their love rubs.


​SHARON BLOOM is John & Della's friend of many years from the art show circuit.
She is a wonderfully talented artist and designer who works in many mediums, mostly enjoying painting and ceramics. Sharon likes to capture her imagery with a light sense of whimsy, expressing her love of Halloween and cats. Her affinity for cats is a constant inspiraton in her art and home. 

An important fact is she adopted one of Della’s more challenging
rescues and has made Milo a very happy little weirdo and art star along with his sidekick, Tiny Ratskin.

ALL creatures have an inner spud . Happiness makes it glow. Our mission is to bring some joy to people with fun art & color.
